Two days until I return to England for christmas! :D I am very excited!

Still not feeling very christmasy yet though, maybe it's because I've been really busy trying to get loads of things sorted before I leave.
This week I'm teaching lessons about christmas in England, I took in some mince pies for people to try and got a surprisingly positive reaction! Also played them 'rudolph the red nosed reindeer' and talked about tradional christmas things in England and Belgium. Some of the students told me that they eat chips with their turkey for the christmas meal!! I found that very hard to believe, but very belgian I suppose!

On Sunday my friends and I had an early christmas celebration at my house which was very cool indeed! Big roast, christmas pudding, mince pies, mulled wine...

Can't think of much else to say, haven't done anything that exciting lately, just christmas preparations really, so I shall leave it there for now!

Oh and also I changed my email password and have now totally forgotten it so if anyone is wondering why I'm not replying to emails that is why!!

Sorry I've been really bad at writing on here lately, I'm a busy girl!
Especially the last couple of weeks, life has been crazy! Hmm, where to begin...

A couple of weeks ago Helen, Inge and Marijn came to visit for the weekend, that was wicked! It was just like a normal weekend in Manc last year, lots of coffee and chatting! We didn't really do that much, I just showed them round a bit, but it was a really cool time.

Last weekend I went to Vienna!! Went to visit Sarah and had an awesome time! It's such a beautiful city, and the christmas lights and decorations are really cool. We did lots of shopping and christmas markets. And...on sunday we went to Bratislava! That was quite an adventure! We went to tesco!!! It was so so cool! And in slovak Mary Poppins is called Mary Poppinsova! Had pizza in the tesco cafe, which we later worked out cost about 80p! And Sarah had a cup of tea that cost 3.5p! We also went to christmas market there, it was such a festive atmosphere and they had a really cute kinds choir singing songs like summer lovin' in slovak!
I took the train to Vienna, so on the way it was 12 hours travelling and on the way back 13 and a half hours!! It was fun though, getting to see lots of Germany.

Tuesday I had the pleasure of experiencing saint Nicolas. Traditionally it's a little kid's celebration, presents in shoes etc, but here it's basically an excuse for a big party for all the students! Everyone wears white lab coats, and get people to write all over them, and then have a big party on the streets! It was so much fun, I was given a lab coat to wear so I felt like a proper student too! After a while my freinds all decided to start writing on people's skin as well as the coats so I ended up with writing all over me too, it took ages to wash off! It was a fun fun night, and certainly an experience! I had 2 hours sleep then had to go teach a lesson in school!
And that was in fact the only lesson I had this week, it's such a great job!

Yesterday I went to Brussels to meet up with other language assistants, had a meal and then went to the museum of bande dessinée (cartoon/comic strips) It was organised by the organisation that organises the assistantships in Belgium (ooh lots of use of the word organise!) so it was all free :) Had a really good time, and Brussels looks great all decorated for christmas. there's even a nativity scene with real sheep!

2 weeks until I go home for christmas, can't wait!
You may have noticed that I haven't used the word 'nice' in this post, go me!
